Common questions about rocks

Modified on Tue, May 16, 2023 at 2:07 PM

  • Do not place too many rocks in your heater - it requires fresh air to be able to flow up freely between the rocks. Putting too many rocks will block airflow and results in the hi-limit safety switch tripping and stopping your heater from turning on. Please remove some rocks and press the hi-limit button to reset your system if this occurs.

  • Preheat rocks at least 20 minutes, gently ladle a small amount of water over top of rocks. Avoid pouring liquid down into the heater as this can result in damage to the heating elements and shorten their lifespan.

  • Your rocks should last a very long time if using clean water. Avoid oils or other substances as your rocks may develop an odour or smell over time if compromised. Contact support to purchase additional replacement stones if needed.
